Dr. Heidi Horsley

Dr. Heidi Horsley is Scott's big sister. Scott died about 40 years ago in a car accident at 17, alongside their cousin Matthew. After dropping out of college and spending three years in California asking why she was still here, Heidi went back to school for two master's degrees and a doctorate, and wrote her dissertation on the sudden death of a sibling. She is now a licensed psychologist with a private practice in New York City, an adjunct professor at Columbia University, an advisory board member for TAPS and the Elizabeth Kübler-Ross Foundation, and the co-founder of the Open to Hope Foundation with her mother. After 9/11, she conducted a 10-year longitudinal study with FDNY families, and she continues to support FDO families pro bono in honor of her brother. Heidi lives in New York with her husband and two children.
