Anne Pinkerton

Anne Pinkerton is an essayist, memoirist, and poet whose work circles around grief, loss, and how we cope with them. Her memoir, Were You Close? A Sister's Quest to Know the Brother She Lost, was published in April 2023 by Vine Leaves Press. Her writing has appeared in the Boston Globe, Hippocampus Magazine, Modern Loss, River Teeth's "Beautiful Things," Sunlight Press, Dorothy Parker's Ashes, The Keepthings, and Brevity Blog, as well as several anthologies, most recently The Loss of a Lifetime: Grieving Siblings Share Stories of Loss, Love, and Hope. She holds an MFA in creative nonfiction from Bay Path University and studied poetry at Hampshire College. Anne grew up in Texas and lives in Western Massachusetts, where she works in marketing and communications and plays music. Her brother David died in 2008 after a hiking accident in the Colorado mountains.
